The Western Land and Irrigation Company Report contains a ledger with a report concerning the business of the Western Land and Irrigation Company. This collection, dated 1908, consists of a bound typewritten report, "The Complete Report upon the Properties, Business and Personnel of the Western Land and Irrigation Co. of Pendleton, Umatilla Co., Oregon." The report includes information on the company founders, copies of its articles of incorporation, descriptions of its lands, water supply, and water rights, testimonials, and other reports on soil quality and agricultural production in Umatilla County, Oregon. The report also includes detailed maps of the Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company, the upper northwest states, Umatilla's water infrastructure, and the western U.S. Burlington Route railway system. Additionally, there is a pamphlet for "The Furnish Irrigation Project" complete with illustrations of the land, maps and captions, and a blueprint chart depicting the water supply from the Umatilla River from 1897 to 1905. The report provides insight into the language surrounding land and water use at the turn of the twentieth century.
