         <p>Collection is open to the public. Collection must be used in Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room. Collection or parts of collection may be stored offsite.          <p>Lee Lynch (1945- ) was born in Manhattan, NY in 1945. Lynch is an American author who started writing lesbian fiction and non-fiction in the 1960s when she was a frequent contributor to <emph render="italic">The Ladder</emph>, the only lesbian publication at the time. Since then, Lynch's short stories have appeared in a number of anthologies and she has published several novels and essays. Lynch has written reviews and feature articles for <emph render="italic">The Lambda Book Report</emph>, among other publications, and her syndicated column, "The Amazon Trail," has been running in papers across the country since 1986. </p>
         <p>Lynch is a recipient of the Alice B. Reader Award for Lesbian Fiction, the James Duggins Mid-Career Author Award (which honors LGBT mid-career novelists of extraordinary talent and service to the LGBT community), and in 2006, was inducted into the Saints and Sinners Literary Hall of Fame. Her novel <emph render="italic">Sweet Creek</emph> was a finalist for a Golden Crown Literary Society Award and was named one of the top ten fiction books of the year by the Q Syndicate. In 2009, Lynch was awarded the Golden Crown Literary Society Trail Blazer award for lifetime achievement, in recognition of the contributions she has made to the field of lesbian literature.</p>

         <p>The correspondence series primarily contains incoming correspondence from family, friends, fans, and publishers.</p>

         <p>The writing series contains notes, draft manuscripts, published works, correspondence, and publicity regarding novels, short stories, essays, book reviews, poetry, and plays composed by Lee Lynch.</p>

         <p>The professional activity and finances series contains royalty statements, contracts, copyright registration certificates for some of Lynch's works, and curricula vitae.</p>

         <p>The publicity and promotional material series contains clippings and flyers related to Lynch's writings.</p>

         <p>The appearances, conferences, and workshops series contains programs, schedules, speeches, and related ephemera for several conferences and workshops attended by Lee Lynch, as well as recorded interviews.</p>

         <p>The personal papers series contains materials related to Lynch's personal life, including material regarding activities and involvement, artwork, calendars and address books, school papers, and collected clippings and works of others.</p>
