Historical Note
The Seattle-King County Planning Council on Aging was established in
1973 in cooperation with King County and the United Way, evolving from a United
Way Council on Aging created in 1956. The name was changed in 1984 to the
Seattle-King County Advisory Council on Aging, and again in 1998 to the
Seattle-King County Advisory Council on Disability and Aging Services. The
Aging and Disability Services unit of Seattle's Human Services Department
serves as the City's sponsor and liaison for the council.
Records for the Seattle-King County Advisory Council on Aging include
