			<p>(from the guide to Cage 701): </p>
			<p>Thomas Heuterman (1934-), professor of communication at Washington State University,
				was raised in Wapato, Washington. He received his bachelor's degree and Ph.D. from
				WSU, and his master's degree from the University of Washington. Prior to joining the
				WSU faculty, he worked as a reporter for the Yakima Herald-Republic. </p>
			<p>Heuterman's teaching specialties included public affairs reporting, communication
				history, and writing (journalism). He also worked closely with students outside the
				classroom, serving as the newsroom adviser to the student newspaper, the Evergreen.
				His research interests were primarily in communication history, including the
				American frontier press. His published works include Movable Type: Biography of Legh
				R. Freeman and The Burning Horse: Japanese-American Experience in the Yakima Valley,
				1920-1942. </p>
