Biography of Glen Barrett

Dr. Gwynn William (Glenn) Barrett (1927-2006) was a history professor at the Boise State University in Idaho. Born in Logan, Utah,
Barrett served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and later earned degrees from Utah State University, the University
of Hawaii, and Brigham Young University. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the faculty at Boise State University in 1968 and taught
there until his retirement in 1993. He collaborated with historian Leonard J. Arrington on several journal articles and a co-authored book.
His 1970s publication Virginian of Medicine Bow was reissued in 2000 with a new introduction by actor Bill Pullman, in connection with a
Turner Broadcasting film. Dr. Gwynn William Barrett passed away on September 23, 2006, at the age of 79.
