Most of these essays, along with others not included in this collection, were published together in a pamphlet in 1954 as Grassroot Cuttings: Sources of the History of the Territory of Washington, by the Longview Daily News. The Washington Territorial Centennial History Committee was responsible for the Grassroot[s] Cuttings project.</abstract>
