  	<head>Biography of L.G. Flannery</head><p>L.G. "Pat" Flannery served as chair of the Wyoming State Democratic Party from 1938 to 1952. He was also director of the Wyoming Works Progress Administration until 1941, a state representative from 1933 to 1935, and administrative assistant to Wyoming's U.S. Senator Joseph C. O'Mahoney (D), who served from 1933 to 1953. Flannery ran for the U.S. House in 1948 and 1954.  He also founded the newspaper the <emph render="italic">Fort Laramie Scout</emph>, which he subsequently combined with the <emph render="italic">Goshen News</emph>, and he edited and published a diary of John Hunton (1839-1928), who had served as post trader at Fort Laramie, Wyoming.</p>

  	<head>Scope and Content</head><p>The collection consists of correspondence, speeches, press releases, election materials, and photographs related to Flannery's political career, Wyoming campaigns and elections, Senator O'Mahoney, and the Democratic party in Wyoming. There is also some personal and family correspondence, as well as newspapers, Wyoming Pioneer Association materials, and papers relating to Flannery's publication of <emph render="italic">John Hunton's Diary</emph>.</p>
