</emph> Gutmann discusses his involvement in Jewish clubs and
fraternities. He first talks about the Ontarians, a Seattle social club for
high-school age Jewish boys which had selective membership, similar to a
fraternity. Gutmann joined the Ontarians in the 1940's. He describes the
pledging process, the membership, and social activities organized by the group.
Incidents of antisemitism Gutmann encountered in high-school are briefly
mentioned. He also talks about his college fraternity, Zeta Beta Tau. Gutmann
describes social life in the house, the makeup of the membership, and duties of
running the fraternity. Also included is some discussion of Gutmann's
grandfather, Moritiz Gutmann, and his business, the Hudson Bay Fur Company.</p>
