Joseph H. McGee (1821-1905) is best known for his involvement in events which became known as "The Mormon War," in Missouri in 1838.

The diary of Joseph H. McGee was used as the basis for the book The Story of the Grand River Country: Memories of Major Joseph H. McGee, 1821-1905.
