      <p>Sidney Teiser (1882-1982) was born in Virginia and lived in Portland, Oregon, from 1911. He was an attorney, historian, and inventor. He founded the "Scribes" branch of ABA, invented the Magna Viewer, and served as the first president of the Jewish Historical Society of Oregon.</p>
