Calder Richards Consulting Engineers was established in 2005 when two Utah structural engineering firms merged: Calder Kankainen Consulting Engineers (CKCE) and Richards Consulting Group (RCG). Both of the earlier firms had been founded in 1985. Before the merger, the two firms had worked on engineering for the 19th Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City in 2002 and on structurally upgrading historic Utah buildings to be earthquake safe.
The Calder Richards Consulting Engineers photograph collection consists of 1 box containing 256 color photographs and negatives of the venues at the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics that the Calder Richards Consulting Engineers worked on. The images depict olympic venues outside of Park City, Soldier Hollow, and Snowbasin, Utah, and date from about 1990 to 2000.
