		<bioghist encodinganalog="5450_">
			<p>Raúl García Zárate (1931-2017) was a lawyer and concert guitarist from Ayacucho, Peru. García Zárate began studying guitar at age 8 and performed his first recital in Peru at age 12. He performed with his brother Nery García Zárate in the group "El Duo Hermanos García Zárate" until Nervy died in 1980. During his lifetime, Raúl García Zárate performed at festivals around the world, recorded a variety of albums, and won many awards including La Orden al Mérito por Servicios Distinguidos given by the Peruvian government.</p>
