Georgia-Pacific Corporation was founded in 1927 in Augusta, Georgia originally as the Georgia Hardwood Lumber Company. During WWII, Georgia-Pacific became the United States Armed Forces largest lumber supplier for the war effort, and in 1948 the company became known as the Georgia-Pacific Plywood and Lumber Company. In the mid-1950s, the company became known by its current name and entered the tissue business. It moved its headquarters to Atlanta, Georgia in the early 1980s, and in 2000 it bought the Brawny, Quilted Norther, and Dixie brands.
Collection contains pamphlets on Georgia-Pacific company development, timber conservation, and its inlaid paneling products, and annual reports.
There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
