         <p>Formerly called Roulet Hardware and owned by Justin Roulet, the Colfax Hardware Company was purchased in 1949 by Charles G. Lemon and C.E. Perryman. Opening in March of 1949, the renamed Colfax Hardware Store was located on North 123 Main Street, in Colfax, Washington.</p>

The collection consists of account ledgers from 1949 to 1951, incoming correspondence, financial records, business registration certificates, inventory lists of materials from 1949, 1950, and 1951, order books from 1949 to 1951, and "Agent's License Record" for the State of Washington Department of Game from 1949, 1950, and 1951.</p>
