         <p>Guy O. Fort (1879 â€“ 1942) dropped out of high school and joined the army. He went to the Philippines in 1899 and stayed until he died. He was Brigadier General in the U.S. Army, and a member of the Philippine Constabulary, and the Philippine Army under the U.S. Armed Forces of the Far East. He was a leader in the Moro guerrilla resistance to the Japanese occupation of Mindanao. Fort is believed to have been killed by Japanese forces following the surrender of the Philippines in 1942, though his body was never found.</p>
