         <p>Charles Wolverton was a lawyer in Albany, Oregon, and a justice on the Oregon Supreme Court from 1894-1905. He served as chief justice from 1898-1900 and again in 1904-1905. He was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon by Theodore Roosevelt in 1905 and served until his death in 1926.</p>
