      <abstract encodinganalog="5203_">Ruth Draper Crockatt (1923-) worked for the Utah Arts Council from 1974-1985 and served as Representative for the Western Region for the National Endowment for the Arts from 1985 to 1991. This collection contains photographs documenting Crockatt's work with Utah Arts from 1974 to the 1990s.</abstract>

    <bioghist encodinganalog="5450_">
      <p>Ruth Draper Crockatt was born in Ririe, Idaho in 1923. She attended the University of Idaho, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in 1947 from the University of Utah. She married Delbert Draper Jr. in 1949. She was involved with, and later became the president, of the League of Women Voters of Utah in 1967. In 1972 Crockatt was appointed Field Director for the Utah Association of Mental Health. She later worked as the Director for the Utah Arts Council from 1974-1985. She was involved in several projects including "One Million Trees for One Million People". During her time with the UAC, she heavily involved in retaining funding from the Utah State Legislature. After leaving the UAC in 1985 she became the Representative for the Western Region for the National Endowment for the Arts from 1985-1991. She continued to be involved with Utah Art events after her departure from the NEA including the Abravanel Hall/Art Center 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2004.</p>
