         <p>The Willard H. Babcock Papers consists of a transcript of a diary account of crossing North America on the Oregon Trail from Nebraska to the Umatilla River Valley in 1859 entitled "Journal of the Road from Missouri River." These papers, which date from 1859 through 1905, also include a newspaper article on Babcock and a guide to the Oregon Trail are included.</p>
