      <abstract encodinganalog="description">KUER was begun as a student-operated radio station under the supervision of Radio and Television Services.  It is now fully professional  and a member of National Public Radio and American Public Radio.  In 1976, a new organization, Media Services, was formed to consolidate all media activities including KUER Radio, KUED Television, and the offices of Instructional Television, Educational Media, and Correspondence Study.  This collection contains an application with associated exhibits made to the Federal Communications Commission for a license to begin operation of KUER Radio.</abstract>
