The National Coal Association was founded in 1917 as a trade organization to meet the needs of communication and cooperation between coal producers and the United States government. In 1995, the National Coal Association (NCA) and the American Mining Congress (AMC) merged to become the National Mining Association.
Collection contains printed material, correspondence, legal documents, and National Coal Association bulletins regarding coal legislation and court actions.
There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
