  	<bioghist encodinganalog="5450" id="a2"><head>The diary begins on February 14, 1898 and ends September 4, 1899.  It includes entries on travel information such as train schedules, currency conversion tables and other almanac information.  Entries include brief information about the weather and daily activities of Mr. Young.  The collection includes a typed transcript put together by Rebecca Goodrich in 2004.</head>
		
		<p>The diary measures approximately 4 by 6 inches and is covered by a tan linen-like fabric edged with maroon fabric binding tape.  In a pocket at the back of the diary is a lock of reddish-brown hair of unknown origins.</p>
