Howard "Hal" Simmons (1919-1999) was involved in the radio business, including hosting his own show (The Hal Simmons Show on KIT Spokane) for thirty years. In 1978, Simmons received an award from the Northwest Radio Pioneers Association for his work in radio.

This collection contains papers of Howard "Hal" Simmons (1919-1999) a radio personality from the 1940s to the 1970s in Spokane, Washington. It includes transcripts of Simmons' radio programs (1948-1949), station KIT memorabilia, newspaper clippings, and a collection of popular music periodicals and ephemera.
