Kerry and his family</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2"><p>Albert S. Kerry (1866-1939) was a Northwest lumberman known for his business acumen and for his civil involvement, in both Washington and Oregon. Kerry was Vice-President of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (1909) and spearheaded the construction of the Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle in 1924.</p></bioghist><scopecontent encodinganalog="5202_" id="a3"><p>Collection consists of photographs of Albert S. Kerry, his wife Katherine, and children Olive May, Albert S. Jr. and Lucy Glen. Other photos depict Kerry golfing and accepting a check from the first customer at the Olympic Hotel in Seattle. Also includes photographs of Kerry residences, including 2 summer homes built for Albert Jr. and Olive Kerry in the late 1930s, designed by modernist architect Paul Thiry.
