The Office of Business and Financial Affairs at Central Washington University was established in 1970 as a division of the Business Office. From 1933 to 1969, business and financial duties were administered by the Business Manager. Prior to 1933, the school hired an accountant to supervise the financial activities of the institution.

The Vice President Business Council was formed at Central Washington University by Vice President Abdul Nasser in October of 1996 to discuss and address departmental and campus issues related to the Office of Business and Financial Affairs. The council met every two weeks. Vice President Rich Corona continued the practice after Dr. Nasser resigned in September of 2001.

Included with the minutes, agendas, and notes of the Central Washington University Vice President Business Council, 1996-2003, are supplementary materials and financial reports.

Central Washington University began as the Washington State Normal School in 1891. In 1937, the school was rechristened the Central Washington College of Education. In 1961, the school became Central Washington State College and, finally, in 1977, Central Washington University.
