  	<head>Biography of Frederic H. Lahee</head><p>Lahee (1884-1968), a petroleum geologist, received his Ph. D. from Harvard in 1911.  He taught at Massachusetts Institute of Technology before joining Sun Oil Company, where he was chief geologist from 1920 to 1947 and geological counselor from 1947 to 1955.  His book, "Field Geology," went through six editions between 1916 and 1961.</p>

  	<head>Scope and Content</head><p>Collection contains files of correspondence, notes, drafts, illustrations, and proof sheets chiefly related to the fifth and sixth editions of "Field Geology" (1948-1961); 3 photograph albums; negatives; pamphlets and reprints; and 3 16 mm motion pictures of trips to Venezuela (1926) and Mexico City (1935).</p>
