Hugh E. Morrison was a research entomologist with the Oregon State University Agricultural Experiment Station from 1937 until his death in 1967. Hugh Engle Morrison earned a B.S. degree from Franklin and Marshall College in 1927 and a M.S. degree from the Ohio State University in 1936. He joined the faculty of Oregon State College as an Assistant in Entomology with the Agricultural Experiment Station in 1937; in the mid-1950s, he was promoted to Associate Entomologist. Morrison's research focused on hop pests; life, habits, and control of symphylans; injurious soil arthropods; and development of soil insecticides for control of pests affecting crops such as potatoes, corn, carrots, and mint.
