			<p>Diane Marie Gillespie, who publishes as Diane Filby Gillespie and Diane F.
				Gillespie, is professor emerita of English at Washington State University. She
				specializes in late nineteenth and early twentieth-century British literature. Her
				special interests include modern fiction and drama especially by women writers,
				relationships between verbal and visual art forms, and Leonard and Virginia Woolf's
				Hogarth Press publications. With a University of Minnesota M.A. she taught at
				Stephens College and, with a University of Alberta, Edmonton, PHD., she taught for
				26 years in WSU's English Department. She is author of The Sisters' Arts: The
				Writing and Painting of Virginia Woolf and Vanessa Bell and numerous journal
				articles, published conference papers, and book chapters including, most recently,
				essays in the Edinburgh Companion to Virginia Woolf and the Arts (ed. Maggie Humm),
				The Hogarth Press and the Networks of Modernism (ed. Helen Southworth) and Virginia
				Woolf: Twenty-first Century Approaches (ed. Jeanne Dubino et. al.). Gillespie edited
				The Multiple Muses of Virginia Woolf and Woolf's Roger Fry: A Biography. She
				co-edited Virginia Woolf and the Arts: Selected Papers from the Sixth Annual
				Conference on Virginia Woolf, Cicely Hamilton's play Diana of Dobson's, and Julia
				Duckworth Stephen: Stories for Children, Essays for Adults. </p>

			<p>This collection consists of the papers of Washington State University professor Diane
				Gillespie. It includes correspondence with Angelica Bell Garnett and others,
				material related to Angelica Bell Garnett's visit to the U.S. in 1980, photographs,
				and audio recordings (audiocassettes with interviews, presentations, and commercial
				recordings). The collection also includes one undated, framed color drawing of
				flowers by Vanessa Bell. The drawing is certified as by Vanessa Bell and is
				inscribed on the back “To Dianne with love from Angelica 1981”.</p>
