Harry Horner (1910-1994) was a Czech-American art director. While studying architecture at the University of Vienna, Horner took classes in dramatic arts, directing, and costume design. He eventually became an actor with the Max Reinhardt Company. After WWII and gaining his citizenship, Horner hopped between Hollywood and the Broadway stage for work, helping make such films as The Heiress and The Hustler. He was inducted into the Art Director’s Guild Hall of Fame in 2006.

 Scope and Content

Collection contains set designs for plays, including Idiots Delight, Who is Harry Kellerman and Why is He Saying Those Terrible Things About Me?, and Time of the Cuckoo; notes, sketches, and scripts; photographs; and correspondence.

There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.
