The WSU Physical Plant was originally known as Buildings and Grounds dating back to
at least 1908 when a superintendent was appointed to the department. The department
underwent a name change to Buildings and Grounds in the 1960's and a reorganizing in
the 80's. The department is responsible for small scale construction and remodeling
work around the WSU campus, as well as day to day maintenance.
Primarily consists of financial reports, contracts, and operations and maintenance
manuals related to various, small-scale projects related to WSU. Also contains
building plans related to the North South Ski Bowl. Files range from 1949-2001.
This is an unprocessed collection. Any arrangement reflects either a pre-existing
order from the records' creators or previous custodians, or preliminary sorting
performed by staff.
Boxes contain mostly data and financial reports that are separated into subject files
based on the project the fies are related to. Boxes 4 and 5 specifically contain
operations and maintenance manuals related to various projects.
This collection is open and available for research use.
