			<p>L. Keating Johnson was a member of the faculty of Music and Theater Arts at
				Washington State University from 1983 until his death in 2004. He earned a
				bachelor's degree from the University of the Pacific (1973), a master's degree from
				the University of Wisconsin, and a doctorate in musical arts from the University of
				Southern California. He joined WSU as director of bands in 1983, and also served as
				music director and conductor of the Washington-Idaho Symphony for 16 years.</p>
