Robertson came to Wyoming in 1873, and in 1878, he became the foreman of the Bridle Bit Ranch, which was located in Laramie County, Wyoming, and owned by Sturgis, Goodell &amp; Company. Around 1883, the company merged with Sturgis &amp; Lane to form Union Cattle Company. In 1890, Robertson moved to Broken Bow, in Custer County, Nebraska, to become a banker.</p>
