Robert Gardner was born in 1819 in Scotland. His family emigrated to Canada in 1822 and joined the LDS Church in 1845. They left Canada, joining the Latter Day Saint exodus to Salt Lake in 1847. Gardner and his family operated a saw mill at Millcreek, Utah, until 1861 when they were called to settle St. George. He participated in building the St. George LDS temple and served a handcart mission to Canada from 1857-1858. Robert Gardner died in 1906.
