Donated by Edith and Migliaccio Stover. The diary contains entries related to the start of the Modoc War conflict. Entries were made by an unknown person, possibly involved with the local militia. The following names are frequently mentioned: Captain Jack, L.S. Dyar, and Applegate. Also mentioned are the events such as the Modoc activity and the Peace Commission meeting with Captain Jack.
