Collection restricted. Deed of Gift and letter dated July 10, 2002 specify portions of the collection to be closed until December 31, 2050. Because the references are not easily identifiable with the existing box labeling, no researcher access is permitted without prior MASC staff review.

In 1981, Cathy Hillenbrand, at that time the owner of the Comet Tavern in Seattle, founded the Real Comet Press. The press published books, primarily comic art and political and social commentary by regional avant-garde artists such as Lynda Barry, Art Chantry, Ruth Hayes, and Michael Dougan.
