			<p>The Agronomy Club at Washington State University, then WSC, was first organized in
				March, 1929, consisting of 34 charter student and faculty members. The stated intent
				at that first meeting was to promote better acquaintance and a spirit of good
				fellowship among students and faculty interested in Agronomy. </p>
			<p>The Water Movement in Soils film appears to have been initially made by WSC Crop and
				Soil Science faculty members W.H. Gardner and J.C. Halch, but was marketed and
				distributed by the Agronomy Club.</p>

			<p>Eight recordings of the same 25 minute video work, Water Movement in Soils, though
				possibly changed over time. One u-matic tape, labeled original version from 1959.
				One reel-to-reel audio tape, labeled new unedited ¼” track, 1988. Six VHS tapes,
				including one labeled master, one Spanish version, and one “turf version.”</p>

			<p>Ian Burke, in the department of Crop and Soil Sciences, donated this collection to
				the Washington State University Libraries on October 18, 2022, where they were
				retained as UA2022-09. They had been in storage in WSU’s Johnson Hall for decades,
				and were removed to MASC when that building was emptied for demolition.</p>

			<p>University Archivist Mark O’English preliminarily accessioned this collection in
				December of 2022. The materials need to be digitized and duplicate physical
				materials discarded, leaving only one physical copy of each iteration of the
				film.</p>
