<p>Grace Atkin Woodbury was born on 20 December 1889 in southern Utah. She married Angus M. Woodbury in January 1909 in St. George. The Woodburys lived in St. George until 1927, then moved to Salt Lake City as Angus continued his academic career at the University of Utah. Woodbury was an active proponent of education, a poet and the author of two books: <title render="italic">The Story of Atkinville: A Family Village</title> (1957) and <title render="italic">Cartoon Highlights of Orin Nelson Woodbury</title> (1963). Her appreciation for education is seen in the accomplishments of her children--all completed college, and several attained Ph.Ds. The emphasis that she placed on both her children and education resulted in her being named Salt Lake City Mother of the Year. Woodbury was active in her community and participated in local councils and church functions. She was a member of both the Utah chapter of the Audubon Society and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Woodbury was also politically active and served as the Vice President of the Utah Women's Legislative council from 1939 to 1942. Her life came to a tragic end when she and her husband were killed in a car accident at Fort Collins, Colorado on 1 August 1964.</p>
