				articles on "Totagadde" by Helen Ullrich (1969-1993)</p><p>"Totagadde Village" is the pseudonym given to a village in Shimoga
				District in Karnataka, India. Edward Harper conducted ethnographic and
				anthropological research in this village at various times from 1956-1969.</p><p>Judith Wiltse Harper researched one Sudra caste in the village for
				her doctoral dissertation. Helen Ullrich's publications document 24 years of
				intermittent visits to the village to study Havik Brahmins: their attitudes
				toward education, women and family structure; the effect of competition and
				modernization; and various cultural, physical and mental health issues
