William Zimmerman papers Zimmerman, William A., 1915-1999 2001-005 0.5 linear feet 1937-1980 William "Bill" Zimmerman spent 40 years in medical school administration and his collection includes a wide variety of material in different media covering school affairs. These include photographs, ephemera, and a series of campus newsletters and other publications.

The collection consists of: one video cassette titled "Medical School History" (undated), one UOMS yearbook (1940), photographs, and ephemera. Also included are publications: "Reports to the Alumni" (1956-1969), "Campusgram", (1964-1966), and "What's Going On" (1955-1969). A 2010 accrual added correspondence, newsclippings, and photographs.

There are no restrictions on access. This collection is open to the public.

Wiilam A. Zimmerman (1915-1999) was born in Canada and raised in Portland, Oregon. He attended Roosevelt High School and graduated University of Oregon (1939). He soon joined the Business Office of the University of Oregon Medical School (UOMS) as Assistant Manager under Ralf Couch (1940). This was the start of a forty-year career. He advanced to take over Couch's postion as Business Manager; Assistant Dean of Business Affairs (1965); Dean, Business Affairs (1968); and retired as Director of Development, University of Oregon Health Sciences Center (UOHSC) in 1980.
