University of Washington professor emeritus of English. Reinert received his B.A. from Lafayette College (1947), and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Yale (1949 and 1951) He was a research fellow at the University of Oslo 1951-1952, and an instructor at Wheaton College 1952-1956. Reinert joined the University of Washington as an instructor in 1956, eventually becoming a full professor in 1972 and later retiring as professor emeritus.
