Biographical Note
Phil Simon was born in 1927 in Tacoma, Washington. He took over his father's scrap metal business Joseph Simon & Sons in Tacoma in 1965.

In the interview, Simon discusses the history of the scrap metal business in Tacoma, the evolution of his business Joseph Simon & Sons, and the merger of the two Tacoma synagogues to form Temple Bel El.
