    <bioghist encodinganalog="545">
      <p>In 1851, Thomas and Eliza Lowe joined the LDS Church in Scotland. Their family sailed for the United States to join others of their faith, arriving in the Salt Lake Valley in 1863. They later settled in Franklin, Idaho, where they built the first shingle mill in the state. Thomas Lowe died of pneumonia, after being arrested as a polygamist, in 1886. Eliza Lowe died in 1917.</p>
