		  approximately 1900 until the late 1960s. He is listed in the city directory
		  variously as a bookeeper, collector, photographer, salesman and insurance
		  agent. James B. Barton and his brother Arthur formed the Barton Brothers
		  photography studio.</p></bioghist><scopecontent encodinganalog="5202_" id="a3"><p>Photographs depicting various street scenes in Seattle; U.S. Army
		  transport ships, probably departing for the Philippines in 1900; and Denny Hall
		  on the University of Washington campus. They were made by the Barton Brothers,
		  probably Arthur and James B.
