  		<p>Need for both electric power and agricultural water supply resulted in multiple dams being placed on rivers in the Columbia River drainage basin in the mid 20th century. These included the Dworshak Dam (Clearwater North Fork, initial construction running from 1966-1972), Ice Harbor Dam (Snake River, 1955-1961), and the Little Goose Dam (Snake River, 1963-1970), among many others.</p>
