Alpha Phi initially colonized Whitman College as the Beta Phi chapter in 1948. The Alpha Phi collection holds publications, memorabilia, and other records belonging to the sorority.

Alpha Phi International Women's Fraternity is a sorority originally founded at Syracuse University, in Syracuse, New York in 1872. The Whitman College Beta Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi was originally established in 1942 when a group of girls living together decided to found a new sorority. Whitman College officially recognized this group in 1948. The original chapter shut down in 1979, due to a general decline in interest in Greek Life on Campus. Local alumni remained supportive of the sorority, leading to its reestablishment in 2012.
This collection contains publications, memorabilia, photographs, correspondence, student and alumni records and trophies related to the Whitman College Alpha Phi sorority.
