The Babcock Performing Readers was originally named the Maud May Babcock Reading Arts Society after Maud May Babcock (1867-1954), a very prominent figure in Utah theater and speech. Their goal is to preserve the art of oral interpre-tation by bringing literature to life through live performance.

The Babcock Performing Readers photographs (1980-1996) are comprised of scrapbooks and photos showing the Babcock performing readers presentations, events, and parties.
