		  Washington</abstract></did><bioghist id="a2" encodinganalog="5450_"><p>Professor of economics, University of Washington.</p><p>Theresa Schmid McMahon born 1878, died 1961. Professor McMahon
		  received her bachelor's degree from the University of Washington, but earned
		  her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1909. In 1911, she began her
		  teaching career at the University of Washington; where, until her retirement in
		  1937, she, her husband, and James Allen Smith were considered the thorns of
		  Liberalism in the sides of a conservative U.S. administration. Dr. McMahon was
		  a member of such "Radical" groups as the Socialists Society, and the Central
		  Labor Council. Her subject was labor economics and the status of women.
		  Professor McMahon lived during a very exciting time in the history of the
		  development of the University. Therefore, "My Story," provides an unorthodox
		  perspective towards events at the University.</p></bioghist><scopecontent encodinganalog="5202_" id="a3"><p>Speeches and writings, notes, clippings, and correspondence of a
		  University of Washington professor of economics, reflecting her interest in
		  labor economics and the status of women. Includes her autobiographical sketch,
