  		<p>Ch'i-ying (Keying, Qiying, 耆英) (1790-1858) began his career in the Chinese Imperial Clan Court. He
				conducted several peace treaties with Western powers, beginning with the Treaty of
				Nanking, which ended the First Opium War with Britain in 1842. </p>
			<p>Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Pottinger, 1st Baronet, GCB, PC (1789–1856) was an
				Anglo-Irish soldier and colonial administrator who became the second Administrator
				of Hong Kong (1841–1843) and the first Governor of Hong Kong (1843–1844). </p>
			<p>Sir John Francis Davis, 1st Baronet KCB (1795–1890) was a British diplomat who served
				as second Governor of Hong Kong from 1844 to 1848. </p>

				1842 Treaty of Nanking.</p>
