         <p>Temple Adath Israel was founded in 1930 in Centralia, Washington.
		  Devid Robinson was an early leader of the congregation.</p>
         <p>The congregation was Orthodox until the early 1950s, but as the Jewish
		  population decreased the membership voted to become Reform. The congregation
		  closed in 1992.</p>
         <p>Esther Robinson was chair of the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Adath
		  Israel included a B'nai B'rith Lodge, Amunoh Auxiliary no. 131.</p>

                  </emph> Tape recording: side one, ceremony; side two, speeches,
				1920-1980.</p>
               <p>Side One is a recording of the ceremony for Temple Adath Israel's
				50th Anniversary Celebration. On Side Two Selma Schwartz relates a history of
				the Temple Adath Israel congregation, beginning before the Synagogue was built.
				She cites many names and tells their individual contributions. She tells of the
				"Floating Sunday School" for children from Olympia, Elma, Aberdeen, Centralia,
				and Chehalis. The Sunday School sent Confirmants to Temple de Hirsch in
				Seattle. Side Two also includes remarks by the President of the Women's
				Auxiliary. She relates how the Women's Auxiliary "Friendship Club" raised money
				for an orphanage. She tells about the men's and women's B'nai B'rith chapters
				which were active until 1945. She describes the effect of the flood of 1931 on
				the Synagogue.</p>

				Centralia Massacre by those opposed to the Industrial Workers of the World).
				List is the guest list for Temple Adath Israel 50th Anniversary Celebration.
				"Daily Chronicle" article on the 50th Anniversary of the Congregation is the
				original newsprint; clippings about the 1930 dedication, obituaries are
				photocopies.</p>
