         <p>The first section of professional correspondence is organized by date, 1928-1937.</p>
         <p>Personal correspondence is organized alphabetically from the 1930s.</p>
         <p>Political correspondence includes letters exchanged with Governor Charles H. Martin, Representative Walter M. Pierce, and other state Democrats.</p>
         <p>The collection contains about 3,000 letters.</p>
