The Japanese Methodist Episcopal Church of Seattle, Washington was begun in 1904. It was renamed Blaine Memorial Methodist Church in 1964 when it merged with the Methodist Conference. Prior to that time the Japanese Methodist Episcopal Church had cooperated with the Methodist Conference but maintained its own Japanese district superintendent.
